Hot Walker is an oral history that takes you from the 1940′s to currant day America, through music, musicians, poetry, and the beat writers of the 1950′s such as Jack Kerouac and Charles Bukowski.
Join Tom Russell as he takes you on a journey through a lost America when freedom was legal, and music was more than just background noise for a prefabricated life style.
Hear the the actual voices of Charles Bukowski, Jack Kerouac, Lenny Bruce, Dave Van Ronk, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, and many more.
Tom Russell is a graduate from the University of California, with a master’s degree in Sociology of Law (criminology). In 1969, he spent a year teaching in Ibadan, Nigeria during the Biafran War. He has also lived in Spain, Norway, and played music at a circus in Puerto Rico. Later in the 1970′s he began his career as a musician.
This is a man who has truly lived and has come to understand the world as few have. This is his masterpiece (my opinion) that laments an incredible time in America that has long since passed. This is Hot Walker.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So last night I sat down by myself, out in my cold garage, to record Uncle Bob’s Broken Radio, in which I feature and comment on my 2009 release of This Aint Nowhere. The title is a reference to song Here In Nowhere, the result of a trip to Alaska a long time ago.
Living my whole life here, this for sure, Aint Nowhere. You’ll get it when you listen the story.
If you like the music, I will send you a CD for a small donation of $6.00 to the Phonetic Bells Network, paid through paypal.

Enjoy,

When I called singer/songwriter/story teller/and man of a 1,000 spontaneous words,Jay Farns and asked him to be on the show,he told me it was his birthday;the party was on.
I added no per-recorded music to this show.jay provided enough music and stories to fill that. Wil played some of his songs also and we (Ron on mandolin,Jay on bass, and me on lead guitar) helped Wil out a bit, but at one point, something didn’t spell just right….
This show is some what of a mile stone for as I become more familiar with the controls and Sony ACID PRO 6. This was a fun show. I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did recording and editing it.

Saturday night we sat down and recorded the 5th show of Uncle Bob’s Broken Radio for our longest recorded show yet. (2 hrs)We started around 9 o’clock and ended at 3:00 am featuring the man of many words, the quick witted, charismatic and talented, Mr. Johnny Awesome. We laughed, we played music and we talked about HR 347, a bill that the president signed that essentially encroaches upon our Constitutional 1st Amendment right to freedom of speech and to assemble peacefully in protest.

Featuring the music of:
Robert Louis (intro)
Johnny Awesome
Cooley Pope
and the Political comedy of Lee Camp

Local musician Anthony Zac, sits in with my co-host, Cindy Young to help play her song, Colorado.

I play the music of:

The Marvins – Pastoral Reel

Robert Louis – Hey Marlena

2 o’clock High -Flake

And a Moment of Clarity with the political comedy of an aspiring young comic from N.Y.C. Lee Camp ( leecamp.net )

We also had some technical problems, yet we plodded through anyhow. Stick with us folks, it’ll get better

Peace
-Robert Louis (Uncle Bob)
