After a brief hiatus Death By DVD is back and better than ever! Okay, so I probably shouldn't start our relationship lying so boldly like that, but sometimes you get what you get. On this weeks Death by DVD we discuss probably the most prolific director of H.P. Lovecraft material in the world, Stuart Gordon. Gordon started his career as an avant guard play director and finally moved into being a sought after genre director with his introductory film Re-Animator. Through the years Gordon's career has had it's up and downs, but has remained one of the most interesting film directors in the business. We discuss Gordon's film career as well as the career that got him there in the first place. SHOW POSTPONED TILL SUNDAY AUG. 28 AT 9:00 PM, DUE TO HANK POSSIBLY DYING IN A HURRICANE

We promised ourselves we would never do this. There were oaths made, blood was spilled and souls were put on the line. What would push us ever so far into this deep awful realm of hell? Oh yeah...Thursday night. This week Death by DVD does an overview on that company that has screwed more than a few video store patrons. Charles Band has been a main stay in the genre for over 30 years now. The man has thousands of credits to his name (only about 6 of which are worth a damn), and has started many a career. We dip into Band's tenure as owner of the genre company Full Moon pictures. We get into cowboys and aliens, piteous freaks, mutated bodies, and of course dolls, dolls, dolls, dolls, and more dolls. Join us as we break down a company's entire history...well the part of that history worth mentioning.

Get in your whip with the 22's and hydraulics; buy a few loosies and a 40...wait i can't continue this. Damn how do I do a write up this week that doesn't sound racist? Screw it. I don't think I can make this sound not racist, so, I'll just be as racist as possible. Ahem. Get on the stoop with your grape soda and your baby's mamma, it's Death by DVD meets the inner city this week. We'll be doing modern Blaxploitation films, or ":urban films" to use the euphemism correctly. All the classics you've grown to love. Remember it's Friday, you ain't got no job, and you ain't got sht to do.

Welcome folks to the NEW look of The Phonetic Bells Network. Due to an update we were forced to abandon the old look and feel of the site. We are actually in the midst of some BIG changes for the network, some of which will help us bring you content in a more consistent and reliable fashion.
We are also getting set to bring you more independent music than you’ll know what to do with. I can’t say what exactly we are doing since we are still in the beginning stage of our deal making, but lets just say this….if we pull it off it will be the first collaboration of it’s kind.
