This is it…Our season finale episode. It was a great one, we were joined by Uncle Deercamp and Grim Pickins for a full show of debauchery and demented humor.
I am gonna miss you guys for the two months that we will be off air. I know it isn’t cool to go with out your odd fix, but there is always the archives and once I get Frankenstein back up and running with a new OS….Breakfast With Odd will return, so you won’t be totally devoid of Odd.
Enjoy the finale…and keep watching the blog and facebook page for updates.
This week we step completely out of our element and discuss music. Fine, you got us. Sure, it's all music from movie soundtracks, but still music none the less. Call it progress or call it laziness, whatever. We will discuss a few movies that have just as memorable soundtracks as the movies themselves. Even in some cases the soundtrack was way more popular than the movie was ever to begin with. Now that I've talked myself in circles, I think i may need a nap....yeah I need a nap.
In this episode of Breakfast With Odd, we hung out with John D. Green Sr. and Guy Williams Jr. of Sabuda. We talked about many things and played their whole 6 song album during the broadcast.
You first heard Sabuda on Mad World Radio and The Phonetic Bells Network back a few months ago, but they are ramping up for an upcoming live performance on July 23rd out at Simmons After Dark. We’ll also have Sabuda in tow with us at some upcoming events we have planned.
For more info on them head over to www.sabuda.org, you can even contact them via facebook and get your hands on your very own Sabuda CD. They are giving them away, but I suggest you give them 2 or 3 bucks for the album so they cover the cost of the CDs.
Through the fog of fucked up and laughable morning and afternoon hours comes one of my favorite things. Live music in the psuedio, and from a very talented man too. My guest was Michael Crider, a local musician that I met at Karma Coffee Shop (Located in downtown Wayne, Michigan)
Mr. Crider caught our ear at an Open Mic night hosted at Karma, and in my opinion he was the best of what I had heard that night. So we offered our hand and card to him, we told to check us out and see if it’s something he’d like to do. The rest is history.
To touch a bit on something that Liz and I vaguely tapped danced around. We will no longer be heard through the other local internet radio station. We have parted ways due to differences of opinion, mainly that I had one and that they didn’t like it. As I said to Liz off air, I’d rather fail doing things my way than succeed doing things their way. I’ll be giving full disclosure soon via a blog, but for now we’ll just leave it at that.
Once again, we at Breakfast With Odd offer up a good dose of ORAL in the morning. Joining me again is Rob Manier and his lovely girlfriend Aubree Harat (think carrot) along with my dear wife Liz. Why do we call it oral? I think you’re smart enough to figure it out.
Our interview was with a man named Yakov Levi (Sounds like a pair of jeans that can get you drunk) creator/mastermind(or bat0r) of Tales from the Whorehouse of Horror, an online comic that mixes sexuality, horror and some good old fashioned tongue in cheek, groaner type humor. We wrote about the comic just this past week and Yakov enjoyed our kind words so much that he consented to doing an interview.
Yakov is also an independent film maker with one of the best worst short films I have seen in a long time. I won’t ruin it with spoilers or details, but you can find it on his website as well as at the bottom of this entry. Just make sure you visit the link too cause there is so much more to offer on his site.
Liz and I had found a story earlier in the week about a new drink option from the folks at KFC. Yes no you can get the MEGA JUG from the southern fried foul franchise, but buyer beware you’re in for a scare. Clocking in at over 800 calories and the equivalent of 56 spoonfuls of sugar, this HALF GALLON container of soda will surely cause you to contract diabetes. Never fear though KFC is donating $1 from ever $2.99 trash can of cola to juvenile diabetes research. Isn’t that nice of them? Giving you a disease while helping you research it.
We also did something special for you the listener. Normally we end at 10am, but we decided to end the TapDetroit feed and keep the show rolling for a bit. We present to you, Breakfast With Odd’s Table Scraps. Be sure to check out the crazy cat lady eharmony video
Bad Ass Avenue is back once again and we’re hitting you square in the face with all kinds of opinion filled goodness. In this episode we speak with Emma Kapplan from We Are Not Your Soldiers, which is an organization that’s partial aim is to inform teens about what exactly their getting into when they take the oath of service.
Recruiters often employ deceptive techniques in order to get signatures to fill their quotas. A recruiter can expect $10,000 per new recruit. So of course they’re going to lie cheat and steal their way to a big pay day. It frustrates me that more and more with each passing day, humanity is being replaced by greed and the devotion to the almighty dollar.
We also received several calls from listeners who wanted to share their thoughts and opinions. Please feel free to share yours in our comments section.
WARNING THIS SHOW IS NOT FOR THE TIMID. WE GET HIGHLY OFFENSIVE, BUT IT’S ALL IN JEST WE DIDN’T MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE.
Ok, now that we have the disclaimer portion out of the way. William Shaffer and Tom Risdon of Warriors 3 Comics & Games (Located at 35613 W Michigan Ave. (Westbound), Wayne, MI) stopped in and hung out for the entire show. Thank Zod there were no Magic Emergencies otherwise Tom would have had to leave. Score one for none broken wands….just kidding. I know there’s no wands in magic.
We destroyed the better part of 3 hours with filth and fun. Tom and Bill were quite popular with the callers, I’d dare to say they were even infatuated with the sultry tones emitting from both of their throat holes. There was talk of their other holes too, but I won’t get into that.
3D is a concept that's almost as old as movies themselves. For a hundred years humankind has been looking for a way to bring even more life to the moving image. ..and this is what we got. Sure 3D is tricky. Sometimes it works really as we've seen recently with the newer 3D movies currently being produced. Sometimes though, we are left with distorted images, a splitting headache, and our pockets short $11. In this edition of Death by DVD, we discuss the processes of 3D film as well as talking about some of the more infamous titles in the 3D catalog. Grab your anaglyphs, cause Hank's getting drunk in the 3rd dimension.
Finally we are trying to help fellow broadcaster and brother in arms CJ get out of jail. He was picked up due to the stupidity of the state of Michigan. It’s a long an complicated story, but the long and short of it he was popped for being unable jump through hoops he shouldn’t had to jump through anyways. Listen to the show for more info, if you’d like to help out by making a donation you can do so through the donation button on his show page.
